Los Angeles: On January 31, 2022, South Bureau Homicide Division initiated a multi-location, multi-arrest operation revolving around one specific street gang in South Los Angeles that has been responsible for multiple violent crimes, including multiple homicides.

This operation was the culmination of six murder investigations. Two of the homicides occurred in the Los Angeles Police Department’s 77th Street Area, two occurred in Southeast Area, and a double homicide occurred in the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Century Station area.

These same individuals sought have been linked to multiple attempt murders, assault with a deadly weapon (ADW) shootings, as well as robberies and stolen vehicles.

The following individuals, all gang members linked to the same gang and residents of Los Angeles, were sought in connection with some of the crimes listed above, but are all involved in at least one of six murder investigations:

• Mario Gonzalez, 20-years-old, booked for 187 PC Murder (Booking #6317143)
•  Tony Gonzalez, 21-years-old, booked for 187 PC Murder (Booking #6308747)
• Alexander Padilla Yates, 27-years-old, booked for 187 PC Murder (Booking #6317028)
• Tyreece Brown, 28-years-old, booked for 187 PC Murder (Booking #6317173)
• James Patterson, 38-years-old, booked for 187 PC Murder (Booking #6317186)
•  Darryl Jones, 35-years-old, booked for 187 PC Murder (Booking #6317211)
• Jahzanee Jervean Cruz, 27-years-old, booked for 187 PC Murder (Booking #6317783)

The service of the search warrants, at six different locations throughout the County of Los Angeles, also resulted in the recovery of nine firearms and other evidence related to multiple crimes.

The investigations were formally presented to the District Attorney’s Office on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, for filing consideration. The operation included the efforts of more than 100 personnel to include members of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Gang and Narcotics Division, 77th Street Area Gang Enforcement Detail, Southeast Area Gang Enforcement Detail, Robbery-Homicide Division, Operations-South Bureau/Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms Crime Gun Intelligence Center Task Force, members of Metropolitan Division, Air Support Division, and the FBI Fugitive Task Force (FTF)
