Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s South Traffic Division detectives are investigating the circumstances of a traffic collision resulting in three fatalities.
On August 26, 2023 around 5:25 a.m., officers responded to a radio call of a traffic collision at the intersection of Vermont Avenue and Century Boulevard. The suspect’s vehicle, traveling north on Vermont Avenue at a high rate of speed, ran a red light and collided with the victim’s vehicle. The victim’s vehicle was traveling west on Century Boulevard. The occupants included a 38-year-old female driver of a ride-share company and four passengers, one 27-year-old female, two 23-year-old females and one male passenger.
After striking the victim’s vehicle the suspect’s vehicle spun out of control and landed on the center median. The Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim female driver and suspect male driver to a local hospital in stable condition. The three female passengers were pronounced deceased at scene.
The driver later identified as 31-year-old Gregory Black faces Vehicular Manslaughter charges. Booking Number: 6666726.
