Los Angeles: On March 12, 2002, approximately between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., three suspects committed at least three street robberies in the Sherman Oaks Area. Armed with knives, the suspects accosted their victims on the street and took their property.
One of the victims was injured during the robbery and was treated for non-life threatening injuries at a local hospital.
At 9:00 p.m., Van Nuys Area patrol officers were responding to a Robbery Call, when they observed the robbery suspects in a stolen 2000 Honda westbound on Ventura Boulevard at Dixie Canyon. The suspects drove onto the 405 Freeway from Ventura Boulevard when the officers attempted to stop the stolen car. The suspects failed to pull over and a pursuit started into the West Los Angeles Area.
The suspects exited the freeway at Sunset Boulevard and stopped their vehicle. The driver suspect ran onto the freeway and eluded arrest, but two other suspects were captured at the scene. The outstanding suspect is described as a male Hispanic, 5’10", 175 lbs. and 16/20 years old. Two captured suspects were both juveniles and were arrested for robbery.
