Students Honored for Traffic Safety Mural Award

Los Angeles: The "Traffic Safety Mural Project-2002" is a culmination of efforts by several prominent national organizations, law enforcement agencies and high school officials to highlight traffic safety awareness measures for our young drivers.
Since 1997, this worthy artistic competition between Los Angeles High School campuses has been a positive reinforcement that instills several safety themes within the student’s community school environment. Topics such as; seat belt use, driving under the influence and traffic violations are among the mural subjects that will oversee the high school common areas.
The top three chosen schools will receive a cash prize donated by the art project’s sponsors. The first place winning student body will, in addition to the monetary prize, be awarded a plaque and certificates for participating students.
Los Angeles paint company Dunn-Edward donated the materials for the project and a panel of judges from the Otis College of Art and Design selected the top three winning schools.
