Los Angeles: On December 21, 2004, at approximately 8:30 a.m., Rampart Area patrol officers responded to a possible suicide attempt call at 335 South Alvarado Street. A Hispanic man was on the roof attempting to jump off. The officers contained the man on the roof and talked him into coming off the roof’s edge. He was eventually taken into custody and was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital for medical treatment due to self-inflicted lacerations to both arms.
The officers made a follow up investigation to the man’s room on the 3 rd floor. A Hispanic woman in her 30’s was found on the bed unconscious and not breathing.
Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
The investigation revealed the deceased woman and the man have been renting the room since December 13, 2004. The man has been identified as 37 year-old Carlos Nolasco. He was arrested for 187 PC, Murder. The cause of death is pending Coroner’s examination. The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification to her family.
