Suspect Arrested in Connection to Murder/Attempt Murder Case

On Friday, October 8, 1999, at approximately 9:45 a.m., Pacific Area Patrol Officers responded to an ambulance shooting call at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel located at 6101 Century Boulevard. In one of the rooms at the Hotel, the officers discovered two victims down with gunshot wounds. The victims, who were visiting from Maryland, were described as Henry Falcon, a male Black, 25 years of age; and, Robert Jackson, a male Black, 29 years of age. Mr. Falcon was pronounced dead at the Hotel by responding emergency rescue ambulance personnel. Mr. Jackson was taken to a local hospital where he was listed in stable condition.

On Sunday, October 10, 1999, at approximately 2:00 a.m., Pacific Homicide Detectives arrested Philip Jones, a 23 year-old, male Black near his residence in Long Beach. In addition, several thousand dollars was recovered from a stolen vehicle that has been connected to Jones’ residence. Jones was booked for the murder of Henry Falcon and attempt murder of Robert Jackson at Valley Jail Division.

Pacific Division Detectives M. Morgan, J. Freund and M. Depasquale are handling the investigation.
