Why:
This Task Force is designed to target subjects who are on probation for graffiti related vandalism offenses. Probation compliance checks will be conducted at locations within Council District 3 by two teams of West Valley Area GIT uniformed officers and detectives. Each team will be accompanied by a Deputy Probation Officer. Councilman Zine intends to participate in the operation. It is anticipated that the Task Force will be checking 10 to 15 locations.
The Media is invited to attend the briefing and to accompany the officers during the operation. Those wishing to participate must RSVP by Monday, December 14, 2009 and will be required to sign a Release of Liability Waiver.
The briefing for the operation will be conducted at 5 a.m. in the Community Room of West Valley Area Community Police Station, 19020 Vanowen Street, Reseda, 91335.
The operation is expected to last approximately five hours and is being funded by Councilman Zine’s office.
