Los Angeles: On June 11, 2023, a joint operation was conducted by officers and detectives from Los Angeles Police Department’s Task force for Regional Auto Theft Prevention (TRAP) and Central Traffic Division’s Street Racing Task force (SRT).
The areas impacted included the following LAPD Divisions: Central, Newton, 77th, Southeast, Southwest, and Los Angeles Sheriff’s Compton area.
The officers’ enforcement actions concluded with the following results:
· Takeovers disrupted/ prevented – 8
· Vehicle stops – 17
· Felony arrest- 2

· Firearms recovered – 1
· Total citations issued – 19

Reckless driving behavior is a significant threat to all who use California’s roadways. The public is reminded that participation in, or presence at the scene of illegal street takeovers can be life-threatening and could result in citations or arrest, and your vehicle may be impounded for up to 30 days.
