The Los Angeles Police Department will host a Memorial Ceremony to honor the 239 LAPD Officers who passed away in the line of duty. The ceremony will be attended by LAPD personnel, City officials, members of the community and family members of fallen officers.

The program will feature traditional Police Honors; the “roll call” of fallen heroes, the rider-less horse, a rifle volley, the “missing man” formation helicopter fly-over, the symbolic sounds of bagpipers playing Amazing Grace, a solo bugler playing Taps and a time-honored “End of Watch Broadcast.” The ceremony will also include the inaugural performance of the LAPD Choir, a voluntary choir comprised of sworn and civilian LAPD employees.

At the conclusion of the program, family members and partners of fallen officers will share an opportunity of remembrance and reflection as they place a long stem rose near their loved one’s name plate on the Memorial Wall.
