The Los Angeles Police Foundation and the World Famous Gladstones Restaurant in Malibu, Partner with the LAPD to Tell Crime to Take a Hike

WHY: At 11:00 a.m., on Sunday, March 15th, Mayor Riordan and the Los Angeles Police Emerald Society’s Pipe Band will officially send off more than 300 pre-registered participants on an unforgettable adventure.
A two-mile path will lead hikers into the Topanga State Park, then back to Gladstone’s for a California style St. Patty’s Day Beach Party which includes entertainment and lunch hosted by the world famous Gladstone’s restaurant. 
Donations from this event will support LAPD’s Juvenile Impact Program (JIP). JIP is a boot camp style program for at risk youth that’s designed to instill discipline, pride, and respect while coaching their parents on effective communication and anger management.  Since its inception the program has turned around the lives of 10,000 teenagers while helping reduce crime in Los Angeles to a thirty-year low.
