Los Angeles: Southwest Homicide Detectives are investigating a shooting of three men in southwest Los Angeles early Sunday morning.
On April 30, 2006, around 4:00 a.m., the victims, all male Blacks, were in front of a residence in the 1900 block of West 43rd Street, in the Exposition Park area of Los Angeles. One victim was standing in front of the location, two others were seated in a parked vehicle. An unknown number of suspects in a dark SUV pulled up and fired multiple rounds at the men. The first victim, Ronnie Arch, 29, standing outside, was struck by bullets in the upper torso. The second victim, Deshun Sims, 45, seated in the vehicle, was hit by gunfire in the upper torso. A third intended victim was not harmed.
Both Arch and Sims were rushed by paramedics to a local hospital, where Arch succumbed to his injuries. Sims was admitted in stable condition.
The shooting is believed to be gang related.
