Los Angeles: On Thursday, February 3, 2005, at about 9:35 a.m., two men were shot as they left their apartment complex, located at 2621 Pasadena Avenue in the City of Los Angeles.
Martin Colunga Jr., 25 years old, and an unidentified male Hispanic, 26 years old, entered their car as two suspects pulled along side in a beige car. The passenger in the beige car fired several shots, striking both men in the torso and head. The suspects drove away, southbound on Pasadena Avenue.
Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics took both men to a near by hospital, but Colunga died a short time later, and his companion was listed in critical condition.
The motive for the shooting appears to be gang related. Detectives believe the beige car may be a Chrysler.
