Los Angeles: On Sunday, January 27, 2002, at approximately 10:30 a.m., an attempt murder occurred in the 2700 block of WynGlenn Lane. A 23 year old male and an 11 year old male, were attending a family gathering. The victims were in the front yard of the residence when they were approached by two male Hispanics, described only, as 20-25 years of age. The two suspects confronted the adult victim and, after a brief encounter, both suspects armed themselves with weapons and began firing multiple rounds. The adult victim sustained wounds in the upper torso and the juvenile victim was struck in the right leg. The suspects then ran southbound from the location. Both victims were transported to a local hospital and are listed in serious but stable condition.
A short time later, a second shooting occurred at 2900 Glenn Avenue. The victim, identified as Adolfo Jimenez, a 22 year old male Hispanic, was shot to death while walking through the apartment complex on Glenn Avenue. The suspect in this murder is described as male Hispanic, 20-25 years of age, 5-10, thin build.
The preliminary investigation indicates that both of these incidents are related, based on time frame, close proximity, and the similarity of the suspects description.
