Los Angeles: On January 7, 2002, at approximately 9:10 p.m., an unidentified female Hispanic, approximately 30 to 40 years of age, was found shot to death in the 6600 block of South Broadway. Officers responded to the scene after receiving a report of a shooting in the area. The victim failed to respond to emergency treatment by the Los Angeles Fire Department’s paramedics and was pronounced dead at 9:22 p.m.
It appears the suspect who is possibly a local gang-member was looking for rival gang members when the shooting occurred. It is unclear if the victim had any gang affiliation. The suspect was described only as a male Black with dark clothing.
