WHY:
Angelinos may not be aware that there are many children who are experiencing homelessness or who are impacted by homeless-related issues. Los Angeles Police Department personnel continuously work with the Union Rescue Mission to give these children opportunities that they might not otherwise get to experience. The Los Angeles Police Department Ice Hockey Team, along with Olympic Figure Skater Tai Babilonia, has joined together to help teach these children how to ice skate. In additional, Councilmember O’Farrell will be handing out gifts to the children. This experience will undoubtedly give these kids hope, inspiration and continue to foster a great relationship with the officers who are dedicated to protecting them.
