Venice Area UPS Thief Caught on Video Committing the Crime NR14465sm

Venice Area: Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Pacific Area detectives are asking for the public’s help in locating the suspect responsible for a residential theft of a UPS package taken from the front porch of the victim’s residence.

On December 2, 2014, Pacific Area detectives received a residential theft report.  While conducting their investigation they became aware that the victim’s home video security system had captured the suspect walking up to the porch, taking the package and walking away with the victim’s package.

Also captured on the video was a small 4-door blue Toyota sedan seen driving past the victim’s residence, making a U-turn and driving past the residence again.  Within less than a minute, the suspect in seen committing the crime.   The video was posted on-line by the victim to assist in the identification of the suspect. The suspect is possibly a male Hispanic, wearing a red hooded jacket, black T-shirt with white lettering, and black pants.

With the holiday season here and the potential increase in residential packages and gift deliveries being delivered; and to safeguard the property of our citizens and community, LAPD Pacific detectives are asking for everyone to be vigilant and cautious when expecting packages to be delivered to their residences.
