Los Angeles: On Friday, February 20, 2004, at about 10:40 a.m., the victim and the suspect were involved in a verbal dispute at the suspect’s residence in the 600 block of West 41st Drive. The verbal dispute escalated into a physical altercation. The suspect went into his residence and returned with a weapon and shot the victim. The victim, although shot, was able to run away from the scene.
The suspect got into his vehicle and caught up with the victim in the area of 4226 South Figueroa Street. According to witnesses, the suspect got out of his vehicle, approached the victim and shot him again. The suspect got back into his vehicle and left the area. The victim was transported to the Los Angeles County USC-Medical Center where he died.
Southwest Homicide Detectives conducted an investigation and on Sunday February 22, 2004, at approximately 1:30 p.m., arrested Hiram E. Summers, 50 years-old, and a resident of Los Angeles. He was booked for murder at 77th Street Area Jail and is being held without bail. The victim has been identified as 24 year-old Leavar E. Williams, a resident of Los Angeles.
