Los Angeles: On Thursday, August 16, 2001, at approximately 9:20 p.m., 15 year-old Schvar Davis was standing to the rear of 1804 W. 94th Street in an alley. Three suspects identified only as male Blacks, drove up in a tan or gold, 1980’s 2-door BMW and parked on the south side of 94th Street in front of 1804 West 94th Street. Two of the suspects got out of the car and approached Davis. Davis and the two suspects exchanged words, which culminated in one of the two suspects pulling out a handgun and shooting Davis several times in his upper torso and head. Following the shooting, the two shooting suspects ran back to the waiting getaway BMW that sped off eastbound on Western Avenue from the location. Shortly after the shooting, Davis was transported to a local hospital by a Los Angeles Fire Department Rescue Unit where he is listed in critical condition.
The motive for the shooting is unknown, but appears to be gang-related. The suspects and weapon remain outstanding.
