WHAT: The Los Angeles Police Department’s South Traffic Division Jacket Giveaway Officers will be providing New Jackets for the children.
WHEN: Saturday, December 9, 2017 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
WHERE: Imperial Courts Housing 11541 Croesus Ave Los Angeles, CA 90059
WHO: LAPD Sergeant Steven Smith, STD Community Traffic Safety Unit (CTSU) LAPD Officer Jerome Divinity The administrative staff of Imperial Courts Housing Unit
WHY: This program was established by Officer Divinity (School Traffic Officer). Officer Divinity’s day to day duties require him to work closely with school administrative staff and the children in the community. Divinity’s observation of kids not having appropriate winter attire during the cold season inspired him to start this program and it has grown every year for the past 8 years. Officer Divinity has worked in partnership with the staff at Imperial Courts Housing to giveaway new jackets to the children. Officers will be discussing traffic safety tips and answering questions during this event.
MEDIA PARKING: Media is encouraged to park in the parking lot at Imperial Courts Housing.
**Officers will be inside the GYM. **
**Media wanting to film officers giving away jackets should meet at GYM at 10am.**
