Rancho Cucamonga: Rancho Cucamonga: On June 22, 2017, Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) investigators searched the home of Robert Cain, an LAPD officer previously assigned to 77th Street Area, as part of an ongoing criminal investigation into his inappropriate sexual contact with a minor. The minor was a 15-year-old girl serving as an LAPD Cadet and he is currently facing felony charges for Unlawful Sex with a Minor.
During the search of Cain’s home, investigators discovered several restricted firearms, including assault rifles, and weapons-related contraband that were seized. Several of the weapons were determined to be illegal to possess in California.
On July 12, 2017, LAPD investigators presented the evidence in the case to the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office which subsequently charged Cain with ten felony weapons crimes including the illegal possession and manufacturing of assault rifles.
On July 13, 2017, Cain surrendered himself to the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department in Rancho Cucamonga and was booked on the weapon charges. Cain is currently in custody in San Bernardino County and his bail has been set at $500,000.
