North Hollywood: On April 22, 2024, around 5:00 a.m., the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) received a radio call of an Assault with a Deadly Weapon Stabbing at the Universal City Station at Lankershim Boulevard and Campo De Cahuenga Way. The suspect had attacked the victim while she was on the train. When the train stopped at the Universal City Station, she exited onto the platform. The suspect also exited and fled on foot. Metro contract security began rendering aid until the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
Around 5:30 a.m., North Hollywood patrol officers were in the area of Ventura and Vineland when they saw a person who resembled the suspect description from the attack. The officers detained the person until Operations Valley Bureau Homicide detectives could interview him. After interviewing witnesses and reviewing available evidence, the person, later identified as Elliot Tramel Nowden, a 45-year-old male Black from Los Angeles. He was booked for 187(A)PC-Murder and is being held on $2,000,000.00 bail. Booking number 6796711.
Investigators strongly believe there are additional, unreported victims of Nowden. The below photograph is being released to identify and speak with those victims.
