Detectives Seeking Additional Victims of Sexual Assault
Update: On July 11, 2022, at 6;00 p.m., Eric Hicks was arrested for Attempt Rape. Hicks is described as a Male, Black, 6’04, 240 pounds.
On July 10, 2022, Hicks was at Criminal Court Building (CCB) court for an unrelated sexual assault. On July 7, 2022, 11:50 p.m., a minor victim exited the Red Line train at Union Station and was walking through Union Station. While walking on the escalator, the suspect from behind the victim, grabbed the victim. The victim flagged down a near-by security guard who called the police. The victim placed the suspect under Private Person’s arrest. The case was rejected by the City Attorney. Southwest Detectives responded and placed the suspect into custody for the Attempt Rape which occurred on June 20, 2022.

Investigators believe that Hicks has been using public transportation to prey on his victims.

Los Angeles: Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Southwest Division are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect responsible for a sexual assault of a woman.
On Monday, June 20, 2022, at around 4:30 p.m., an adult female was walking in the area of Somerset Drive and Coliseum Street. The Suspect followed the victim on foot from the MTA station (Crenshaw/Expo) and tackled the victim into bushes and sexually assaulted her. The victim repeatedly yelled for help, at which point a bicyclist passing by observed the attack and called the police. The suspect then fled on foot northbound on Somerset Drive.
The suspect is described as an African American male, approximately 20-30 years old. He stands approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs about 180-200 pounds. The suspect was wearing a black beanie, black T-shirt with white T-shirt undershirt, black shorts, white socks, and black shoes. He was seen carrying a gray backpack.
