Van Nuys: The Los Angeles Police Department and Valley Bureau Homicide detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the identification and arrest of the suspect(s) responsible for the murder of 22-year-old Osvaldo Hernandez, a resident of the City of Van Nuys.
On December 6, 2018, around 9:40 p.m., Van Nuys patrol officers responded to a radio call of an “Assault with a Deadly Weapon Shots Fired” in the 7300 block of Vista Del Monte Avenue in the City of Van Nuys.
Upon arrival at scene, the officers found two victims suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers along with a concerned bystander rendered emergency medical aid by performing CPR on Hernandez until they were relieved by paramedics.
The Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded and transported both victims to a local hospital where Hernandez died from his injuries and the second victim was in serious, but stable condition.
Valley Bureau Homicide Detectives were notified and responded to the scene. Preliminary investigation revealed that the victims were standing outside when they were approached by the suspects. The suspects without provocation, shot both victims multiple times before fleeing the area.
There is no suspect information and the investigation is still ongoing.
