When:

Where:
Panorama High School Auditorium
8015 Van Nuys Blvd
Panorama City, CA 91402
Why:
In cooperation with various clergy organizations and Panorama High School, Los Angeles Police Department Mission Area is hosting its first Youth Leadership Summit at Panorama High School on Saturday June 11, 2011.
This Youth Leadership Summit is one of a kind. It is designed to promote leadership among the youth through the sharing of community stories and testimonials. The stories will be delivered by our own youth through the use of dramatic skits designed to influence our teens in making the right choices. These stories will be followed by testimonials from real people who had experienced and overcome personal challenges, hardships and tragedies and become role models in their communities. The testimonials are also designed to influence our youth in making right decisions. We are hoping this leadership summit promotes accountability among the youth while building character, respect, courage and love for their family. Only through a true partnership between the Police Department, Clergy and community organizations that we can assist the youth to become an active voice and role models in their communities.
Since 2010, Mission Area personnel have worked diligently to provide parents with education (in Spanish and English) and resources to better deal with trouble teens engaged in delinquency activity or crime. Today’s summit is designed solely for teens but parents are also welcomed.
The Summit will be 90 minutes in duration followed by a community mixer where service providers and key speakers will be available for questions and further assistance.
