City Bus Fatally Collides with Vehicle

Los Angeles: On November 5, 2002, at approximately 6:20 a.m., a three-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of La Cienega Boulevard and San Vicente Boulevard, resulting in one fatality.
Los Angeles resident, 44 year-old Maria Argueta, was a front seat passenger in a 1991 Chevrolet Astro-van being driven by her husband, when their vehicle was broadsided by a Metro Rapid coach. Turning left from northbound La Cienega Boulevard to westbound San Vicente Boulevard, the van was hit on the right side and incurred major damage. Argueta’s husband was injured and released from a local hospital. Another vehicle was struck during the collision. The 39 year-old driver of that car was not seriously injured.
Maria Argueta was transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. She sustained severe injuries as a result of the collision and died at the hospital.
