Woman Shot and Killed; Suspect Arrested

Los Angeles: Hollenbeck Homicide Detectives are investigating the shooting death of Ana Madrigal, 42 years of age. On Monday, September 30, 2002, at approximately 8:20 p.m., the suspect entered the victim’s residence located at 754 South Avenue 60. Once the suspect gained entry into the victim’s residence, for an unknown reason, shot the victim multiple times with a 12-gauge shotgun. The suspect then exited the victim’s residence, walked to next door where he lived and entered the rear yard area. The suspect then placed the shotgun next to a tree in the yard and waited for the arrival of the police.
The suspect, Alexander Gonzales, 19 years of age, was arrested and taken into custody without incident. Gonzalez was booked for murder at Parker Center Jail and is being held on $1,000,000.00 bail.
Los Angeles City Fire Paramedics responded to the scene and attempted to provide the victim with emergency medical treatment. Subsequently, the victim died at the scene.
The motive has not been established.
