Fatal Shooting in Boyle Heights NR17308ml

Boyle Heights: Los Angeles Police Department Hollenbeck Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting of Ricardo Herrera Jr., a 21-year-old man.

The shooting was reported on Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at about 1:30 a.m. The shooting occurred at the Metro Gold Line Station located at Indiana Street and 3rd Street.

The two victims were riding their bicycles, when the gunman fired multiple gunshots wounding both victims.

They were transported by paramedics to a local hospital where Ricardo Herrera Jr. died.

The other adult male victim was treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and remains hospitalized.

The motive for the shooting is unknown at this time.
