Woman and Dog Struck by Gunfire Leaving Woman Dead NR21010rc

This morning, February 22, 2021, around 7:20 a.m., the LAPD-FBI Fugitive Task Force arrested Lamont Dorsey, 28-year-old, resident of Los Angeles, for the murder of Katharine McNally. Dorsey was located at the 900 block of Olive Street.

Dorsey was booked for 187 p.c. "Murder" and held with no bail. The case will be presented to the District Attorney's Office for filing consideration on Wednesday, February 24, 2021.

This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact West Bureau Homicide investigators at (213) 382-9470.

Koreatown: The Los Angeles Police Department's West Bureau Homicide detectives are asking for the public's help in providing any information that would lead to the arrest of the suspect(s) involved in the murder of a woman in her late 30's, a resident of Los Angeles.

On January 9, 2021, around 1:11 a.m., Olympic area patrol officers responded to a radio call of a, "Shooting," at Mariposa Street and Council Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound. She was accompanied by her dog, who was also stuck by gunfire.

The Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded and pronounced the woman dead at the scene. The dog survived.

According to witnesses, the woman was walking to her vehicle, as she entered her vehicle the suspect approached and shot the woman.

The suspect is described as a male Black, in his 20's and wearing dark clothing. He was last seen running away southbound on Mariposa Street towards First Street.
