South Central Los Angeles, where he was raised by a single parent.
He attended Los Angeles High School, went on to earn his bachelor's
degree from a historically Black College, Bethune-Cookman, and
subsequently attended law school at Georgetown University.

Upon returning to California, Mr. Briggs became a successful
entertainment trial lawyer and civil litigator, representing some
of the top talent in film, television, music and sports. His legal
experience involves complex intellectual property, contract, and
partnership disputes; rights of publicity and first amendment
issues; and employment matters. Clients often call on him to
provide general counsel advice in helping to resolve intricate and
sensitive matters. Mr. Briggs also frequently helps clients to
respond rapidly to emergency situations or to strategize and create
sensible and cost-effective solutions. When difficult and
challenging issues cannot be resolved, Mr. Briggs is always
prepared to try the case for the client.

The proactive counsel Mr. Briggs provides the entertainment
industry has been recognized by Billboard magazine, the Los Angeles
Business Journal, and the Hollywood Reporter, and he has been
listed in Super Lawyers since 2014.

Beyond his legal practice, Mr. Briggs is heavily involved in civic
and community affairs. In 2014, he was appointed by Mayor Eric
Garcetti to be a commissioner for the Los Angeles City Employees
Retirement System, where he was responsible for overseeing the
pension and disability benefits for city employees. Mr. Briggs also
served as a trustee on the Sierra Canyon School Board of Directors
and provides pro bono legal services to the Alliance for Children's
