"Hewlett Packard Cargo Load Intercepted"

Los Angeles – The Cargo-Hijack Unit of the Burglary-Auto Theft Division received a tip of a Cargo load of computers in the Rampart area of the City on March 2, 2000.

At approximately 11:00 p.m. Detectives responded to the area of Catalina and 6th Street, where they located a U-Haul truck filled with stolen computer equipment. The U-Haul truck was loaded from the floor to the ceiling with stolen Hewlett Packard computers and printers.

A follow-up investigation led Detectives to 4075 W. Pico Blvd, also in the City of Los Angeles, where Detectives subsequently served a Search Warrant at the location and recovered approximately half a million dollars worth of stolen Hewlett-Packard computers and hardware.

Two suspects have been identified and arrests are imminent.
