$50,000 Reward Offered for the Capture of a Named Hit & Run Driver who Killed One Person and Critically Injured Two

WHY: To provide the name and photograph of the identified Hit and Run suspect andannounce a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest, prosecution and conviction of the wanted suspect.

On Monday, July 28, 2014, around 6:39 a.m., a multi-vehicle and pedestrian traffic collision occurred on Beverly Boulevard and Normandie Avenue. A 2014 Toyota Camry, traveling northbound Normandie Avenue collided with a 1999 Ford F-150, traveling eastbound Beverly Boulevard. The Ford F-150 was traveling at approximately 45 mph and failed to stop for the posted red tri-light. As a result of the collision, the Ford F-150 ran off the road, at the northeast corner of Beverly Boulevard and Normandie Avenue and struck three pedestrians waiting at a bus stop. The Toyota Camry continued in a northeast direction and collided with a 2014 BMW X3, stopped westbound Beverly Boulevard.

Two of the pedestrians, a 46-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man were critically injured and were transported to a local hospital. The third pedestrian, 45-year-old Javier Hernandez, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other involved parties did not sustain any injuries.

The driver of the Ford F-150 ran away from the crash without identifying himself or rendering aid as required by law.
