Hit and Run Results in a Death of 58-Year-Old Man

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a Hit and Run driver which resulted in a death.  

On Saturday, September 6, 2008, at around 11:00 p.m., a 58-year-old man, Roosevelt Turner, was standing at the driver side door of a light colored pickup truck, parked at the curb at the 500 block of Stanford Street.  The truck pulled away from the curb while Turner ran along side of the car.  Turner then fell and was run over by the truck’s left rear tire.  The suspect left the scene  without stopping to identify himself or rendering aid to the fallen victim.

Roosevelt Turner was transported to local hospital where he died a short time later as a result of his injuries.  

There were no witnesses located at the scene of the accident however, a camera attached to the front of a nearby hotel captured the vehicle.  The detectives have not been able to identify the license plate number or the suspect at this time.
