LAPD’s South Traffic Division is seeking help from the public in solving a brutal hit-and-run traffic collision which occurred on Friday, December 3, 1999, near the intersection of Adams Boulevard and St. James Place.

A 29 year old mother, her 9 year old child and an 8 year old friend were crossing in a marked crosswalk when they were struck by a vehicle that was traveling at a high rate of speed eastbound on Adams Boulevard.

The suspect, a male Hispanic in his late twenties or early thirties, fled in his car northbound on St. James Place. He didn’t even slowed down!

The mother and children remain in very critical condition at USC Medical Center with head injuries.

Through trace evidence found at the crime scene, South Traffic Division Detectives have determined the make, model & year of the hit-and-run vehicle. A search is on for this hit-and-run driver and the Press is encouraged to attend the Press Conference and broadcast all available information regarding the suspect and the vehicle which will be distributed by Detectives.
