WHY: The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) and the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) are hosting the LAPD & LAFD Safe Summer Swing-a-Thon. A Free community event scheduled for Friday, June 15, 2018, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

This year the Safe Summer Swing-a-Thon will provide an exciting opportunity to bring young people together in a positive and safe setting, as well as to address some of the challenges they face in their community. Personnel from both Departments will be on hand to mentor attendees and discuss the importance of staying physically active, being involved in their community and inspire them to make contributions to their neighborhoods.

The event will have complimentary BBQ lunch, activities to build unity among youth, sports clinics, raffle giveaways, educational opportunities to learn more about the LAPD, LAFD and our Community Partners.
