Youth Stabs and Kills his Uncle During a Heated Dispute

Van Nuys – On Sunday, June 4, 2000, at approximately 1:30 a.m., victim Alvaro Anselmo Montenegro, male Hispanic, 36 years-old, and his six-teen year old nephew were involved in an argument. The suspect stabbed Mr. Montenegro in the upper torso with a kitchen knife. Mr. Montenegro was transported by ambulance to an area hospital where he died as a result of his injuries.

The suspect fled the area and is still at large. His identity is being withheld due to his age.

On Monday, June 5, 2000, at 9:00 a.m., Van Nuys Homicide Detectives Conrad Torres and Jim Rahm, will be holding a press conference at:

Van Nuys Community Police Station 6240 Sylmar Avenue Van Nuys, Ca. 91401.

The family members of Mr. Montenegro will be in attendance to answer questions relating to his death.
