Los Angeles: The Los Angeles
Police Department’s Van Nuys Division Robbery detectives are
seeking the public’s assistance in identifying an outstanding
robbery suspect.

On Thursday, November 30, 2017, at 10:35 a.m., a robbery occurred
in the Macy’s store at the Westfield Mall located at 14000
Riverside Drive in Sherman Oaks involving three suspects.

The one suspect (driver) stayed in the vehicle. Two suspects
entered the Macy’s store and approached the Macy’s jewelry counter.
One suspect used a hammer to break the class counter and removed
the glass. He then produced a handgun and pointed the gun at
several customers while the other suspect grabbed several high-end
watches. The suspects ran to the waiting vehicle and fled with the
watches.

Two suspects
have been arrested (Suspect 1 and Suspect 3) and the gun used in
the robbery has been recovered. One suspect is still
outstanding.


Suspect-1 has been arrested and identified as Joseph Daniel Chavez
(person with gun).

Suspect-2 was described as a male Hispanic, unknown hair, unknown
eyes, he stands between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 10 inches, he
weighs between 180/200 lbs., and 20 to 30 years of age.

Suspect-2 was wearing a black and gray hoodie, tan shorts, white
shoes, brown baseball hat, black gloves and a gray bandana over his
nose and mouth.

Suspect-3 has been arrested and identified as Joseph Anthony Chavez
(Driver).

Van Nuys Division Robbery detectives are continuing the
investigation and are asking for the public’s help to locate any
possible witnesses to the crime.
