UPDATE

On December 7, 2018, around 5 p.m., Katherine Michelle Lopez
returned home safely and was reunited with her family.

Van Nuys: The family of Katherine Michelle Lopez and the Los
Angeles Police Department’s Missing Persons Unit are asking for the
public’s help in locating her.

Katherine was last seen on December 2, 2018, leaving a friend’s
residence in the 6900 block of Columbus Avenue. She took her
friend’s car without permission. After returning to the residence
later that day, Katherine and her friend engaged in a verbal
argument over the use of the car resulting in Katherine leaving on
foot. Katherine then contacted her friend by video chat and was
seen holding a gun, threatening to harm herself. Katherine is a
habitual runaway and is possibly suicidal. Her family is concerned
for her safety.

Katherine is described as a 17-year-old female Hispanic with
shoulder length hair dyed red and brown eyes. She stands 5 feet 3
inches tall and weighs approximately 120 pounds. Katherine was last
seen wearing glasses, a yellow Cambodian necklace with a green gem,
a bright orange jacket, pink leggings, and white “Fila” shoes. She
was carrying a beige Michael Kors purse and had a 2-month-old
Dalmatian puppy named “Kiba” with her. Katherine has a tattoo of a
large lotus flower on the front of her neck, “Cosset” on the left
side of her face, Chinese characters on the back of her neck, and
numbers on her knuckles.
