Texas Fugitives

On Sunday, May 6, 2001, at approximately 1:00 a.m., Detective Support Division, Fugitive Warrant Section received information from West Valley Community Police Station that they had a female, identified as Erika Sierra in their police station. Sierra was upset and had informed the officers that her boyfriend Helibeto Chi, was a wanted fugitive for a Homicide that occurred in Dallas, Texas.
West Valley Area officers then queried, "America’s Most Wanted" website which confirmed that suspect Chi was a wanted fugitive from Texas. West Valley then contacted Detective Support Division, Fugitive Warrant Section.
Detectives assigned to Fugitive Warrant Section responded to West Valley Community Police Station and interviewed Erika Sierra. Detectives were able to ascertain the whereabouts of Suspect Helibeto Chi.
At approximately 4:00 a.m. Suspect Chi was located and arrested in the 13000 block of Vanowen Blvd. in Reseda.
Further investigation revealed that Erika Sierra was also wanted in connection with the same murder. Both Chi and Sierra were booked on the outstanding warrant and are currently awaiting extradition to Texas.
