Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s West Valley Division will be cycling for youths on Saturday, December 4, 1999. Off-Duty officers will participate in the First Annual Cycling Fundraiser to raise money for Police Activity League Supporters (PALS) youth center in Reseda. The event will take place at the Mid Valley Athletic Club, 18420 Hart Street in Reseda, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The PALS Organization is a non-profit group that influences young people through positive programs. The Youth Center in Reseda was built and is maintained through donations and fundraising efforts of its members. The primary focus of the Center is to provide a safe and constructive environment for after school activities. There are over twelve hundred youngsters enrolled in the program.

Members of the PALS Organization have been seeking donors to sponsor the officers in their cycling fundraiser. Some members of the health club are providing sponsorships. The officers will participate by cycling in stationary cycles from 30 minutes to 2 hours blocks.

This is a fun event, which brings officers and the community together as they work hand in hand to benefit the youths.
