October 3, 2018

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department and Valley Bureau Homicide detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the identification of the suspect who killed 18-year-old Mario Ramirez, a resident of Northridge.

On October 2, 2018, at 9:50 p.m., West Valley Area patrol officers responded to a radio call of a “Shooting Victim”, at a hospital in the 18300 block of Roscoe Blvd in the City of Northridge.

The officers arrived, and located the victim inside the emergency room. The officers were advised by emergency room hospital staff that the victim had succumbed to his injuries. The officers visually checked the victim and observed him to have sustained a gunshot wound.

Preliminary investigation revealed that at around 9:45 p.m., a vehicle pulled into the hospital emergency room parking lot. The occupants of the vehicle removed the victim and left him with paramedics who happened to be standing outside. The occupants then fled the scene.

While detectives have little information, this does not appear to be a random shooting. The motive of the murder is still under investigation.
