Los Angeles: On October 31, 2002, at approximately 11:45 p.m., Wilshire Area Officers responded to an "Assault with A Deadly Weapon" Investigation in the 200 block of North Arder Boulevard.
Upon arrival, the officers were met by the victims, who stated that at approximately 11:40 p.m., several family members were celebrating a birthday at their residence, when they heard the sound of breaking glass, and observed the suspect, later identified as Kentrall Scott, smashing the glass of a rear door and forcing his way into the rear of the residence. The suspect was armed with a handgun, and upon being challenged by the owner of the residence, threatened them with the weapon, while he disconnected the phone line. The suspect then demanded money from the victims, who attempted to complied with the demand.
During the course of the Robbery, the suspect became involved in a struggle with two of the adult male family members, and the suspect lost control of the handgun. At this time, one of the males struck the suspect with a household object, and both males continued to engage the suspect in a physical altercation. After several minutes, the suspect gave up, and fled the location. Responding officers observed a second male, subsequently identified as Trenton Battle. He who was implicated in this crime and provided information that led the officers to the location of the first suspect. Suspect Scott was located a short distance from the location. During the follow-up investigation, it was discovered that the suspects had a vehicle (1989, Dodge Aires, White, 4 door, no plates) one block from the location, to use in their escape.
The suspects have been identified as 23 year-old, Kentrall Scott, and 21 year-old, Trenton Battle. Both suspects will be booked for Robbery. Photos of the suspects will be available.
