Armed Robbery Suspects Take Over Blockbuster Video Store

On Thursday, January 20, 2000, at approximately 11:30 p.m., two suspects entered and robbed the Blockbuster Video Store located on the 5300 block of Wilshire Boulevard. The store was open for business and there were several customers shopping inside the store. None of the customers were harmed and no property was taken from them. One of the suspects was armed with a semi-automatic handgun, however no shots were fired. A witness who observed the robbery called the police from a cellular phone.

Wilshire patrol officers responded and observed the two suspects running away from the store. They were apprehended without incident. The undisclosed amount of stolen money and handgun were recovered.

The two suspects are residents of Inglewood and their ages are 19 and 22 years. They were booked at Wilshire Community Police Station for robbery. Bail has been set for $50,000. Names have not been released pending the filing of charges.
