Update

On September 8, 2020 Rodney Dorsett Jr. (Suspect) and 6-year-old
Chance Dorsett were both located in Las Vegas, Nevada. Rodney
Dorsett Jr. was arrested on a Los Angeles County warrant. Chance
Dorsett is safe and currently in the custody of Department of
Children and Family Services (DCFS).

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles
Police Department’s Wilshire Division and the grandfather of 6-
year-old, Chance Dorsett, is requesting the public’s help in
locating him.

On Sunday, September 6, 2020, around 4:00 p.m., Chances’ biological
father (suspect Rodney Dorsett Jr.) met with Mr. Dorsett Sr., whom
has full custody of Chance and Chance at a nearby market. The
market is located at Redondo and Washington Boulevard. The
grandfather allowed his son Rodney Jr. to take Chance and spend
time with him, hours went by and Chance was not returned.

When Chance was not returned, Mr. Dorsett Sr. made numerous
attempts to contact Rodney Jr. via cell phone. Rodney Jr. failed to
answer his phone or return any phone calls. Mr. Dorsett Sr. worried
and concerned for Chance, contacted the Los Angeles Police
Department for assistance in locating him.

Rodney Dorsett Jr. is believed to be travelling by bus. He has
family in Texas and might be heading in that direction.

Chance Dorsett is 6-years-old, described as a male Black, with
brown eyes, black hair, weight approximately 90 pounds and is 5
feet tall. He was last seen wearing a navy-blue shirt with tan
polka dots and tan shorts.

The suspect, 25-year-old Rodney Dorsett Jr., is described as a male
Black, with brown hair and brown eyes. He is 5’09” tall and weighs
approximately 200 pounds.
